The Baltimore Orioles have just announced that they have released Jay Gibbons. It is huge news. It is clear sign that the club is absolutely committed to winning. Mr. Angelos, Mr. MacPhail and Dave Trembley showed that they give a damn and they should all be commended. Even more than trading Tejada and Bedard, this move demonstrates that it is a new day for this franchise.

We all should celebrate this one. It is an enormous victory for Baltimore Orioles baseball and all those that support it.
