Bmore… Why be less?
Finally!! The word “Baltimore” will be on the Orioles’ road uniforms next year. Thank goodness. This has been one of the hot button issues of the last ten years. It was removeded in 1973 by then owner Gerald Hoffberger… but only became an issue after what has transpired with this baseball club over the last 10 years.
I am a Baltimorean almost above all things. Therefore, I am ecstatic with this decision. Will this make the team better? Hell No! But, it is all about the cleansing process of 10 horrific years of baseball.
It is about the club getting better at all things… on the field, in the minors, in the community, making up for lost time, and most of all making the fans happy.
There are some who believe the 2 greatest sins of this club were putting the name Orioles on the road uniforms (rather than Baltimore) and not re-signing Jon Miller. This decision to change the uniform for road trips is a good thing. I don’t care who takes the credit. But in my view, it is not a coincidence this happened in Mr. MacPhail’s 1st full season.
