An interesting story from the Orioles game against the Royals on Monday night. I think this story is fascinating and refreshing in today’s world of the professional athlete….

Last night, in frustration, George Sherrill threw bubble gum all over the field; there were about 200 little  pieces of unopened gum in a 30 foot radius. The bat boy had to go out on the field and get on his hands and knees to  pick up each piece of bubble gum. Of course, the bat boy had nothing to do with the gum all over the field, but it was his job to pick up all the pieces in between innings so the field would be clear.

Luke Scott saw that injustice and went out on the field, got on his hands and knees, and  helped the bat boy pick up the gum. That spoke volumes about Scott’s character…….
