Last Night
Last night was not a good one for the Birds… Now it is time for Garrett Olson to make an adjustment. Clearly the league is picking up on his patterns. He is a smart guy I believe he can do it….Posted on Thursday, May 22nd, 2008 at 2:55 pm.It is important to win tonight’s ball game to have a shot at a fantastic road trip.
To the minor leagues… Jake Arrieta is one of the three big stories so far this season. Last night for Fredrick he went 8 shutout innings allowing just 3 hits. He walked 2 and struck out 5.
The Keys have the best hitter and pitcher right now in the Carolina League. Every single Orioles minor league team is currently seriously contending in its respective league, minus AAA Norfolk, but it doesn’t count, because that team lacks any big time prospects.
There is a great chance next year the Orioles could have 10 prospects in Baseball America’s top 100, including 2 in the top 10, and Matt Wieters is the favorite for the number 1 overall.
Now to the real story… Idol last night. This was the first season I really paid attention, and it really is an entertaining show. I’m not sure if i’ll watch next year, because I had some concerns about the credibility of the judges. I believe that on some occasions they are told what to say.
Now it wasn’t like I was losing any sleep over the competition… at least not once Amanda Overmeyer was eliminated… But I am glad Cook won. He is the better talent right now. He does more variety of songs and styles, and he takes risks. There is a good chance multiple contestants who made it to the top 10 will have good careers.
And if I see Archuleta’s father one more time… clapping with that hat on… I am just going to snap.
Carrie Underwood is amazing… in every which way… to put it mildly, just most impressive. What was Tony Romo thinking…?? See, I brought it back to sports. Now that’s talent….
