I am so fired up for tonight’s Maryland v. Duke  game. It truly has become one of the greatest rivalries in college basketball. I just love “Duke Fans”… claiming that they don’t look at the Terps as rivals. By far and away, Maryland has had more success against  Duke than any other ACC team in recent years. 

Duke fans camp out for 2 games…. Maryland and UNC. And I heard former Blue Devil–now NBA star– Carlos Boozer say on the Mike Tirico show ( which airs  every day from 1-3 on ESPN Radio 1300) that, when he was in Durham, he and his teammates considered Maryland a bigger rival than UNC. Those were epic battles in those days… Maryland and Duke featured 4 All-Americans combined and 8 who became NBA players, including the 2 best players in the country: Jason Williams and Juan Dixon.

Tonight, of course, it is a different group of players. Nevetheless,  it should be just as exciting. Maryland blew a 9 point lead in College Park. But, this team is hot… and win, lose, or draw tonight they are going to the dance. But, look for Maryland to land the shocker. Turn down the sound on your TV tonight and listen to Johnny Holliday and Chris Knoche on either ESPN Radio 1300… or listen in on the FM side… Baltimore’s FM-Talk 105.7. Our coverage starts at 6… and the tip is at 7. Should be a lot of fun….
