The Baltimore Orioles have spent much of the last 5 to 7 years raving about the talent of  their young crop. The O’s certainly have had a talented group, but only one has reached his potential…. and this afternoon the team officially and willingly traded that one true ace. Erik Bedard is now a Mariner.

Bedard is one of the most rare commodities in the world of professional sports… a dominant left handed starter. He may well win a Cy Young before his career is over. So is it a good move for the Birds? It is,  without question, a good move. How good? Only time will tell. I’ll come back with my opinions on the returns Monday…. Til then… keep listening to ESPN Radio 1300 for the latest sports news.
