The Steelers Will Win Big

The point spread says Pittsburgh is favored by 9.   Take the Steelers and give the points.  That looks like a big number, but here is why it is not.

Road Woes -  The Ravens have thrown in some real clinker games on the road this year and are 1-3 away from home on the season.  It would be 0-4 but for woeful San Francisco.

Revenge -  After getting run out of the gym twice by the Ravens last year, the Steelers will be out for revenge tonight.

Cornerbacks -  If Rolle and McAlister don’t play, the Ravens will be reluctant to blitz, not wanting to expose inexperienced corners.  This will just play into the Steelers hands and they’ll pick apart that depleted secondary all night.

Reality -  The reality is the Steelers are simply better.  Baltimore is 0-2 vs. Cincy and Cleveland while Pittsburgh has beaten that pair by a combined 38 points. The Ravens lost to Buffalo, while the Steelers beat the Bills 26-3.

Let’s face it, the Ravens have played a weak schedule and are 4-3.  They could be 3-4 or worse, but they held on to beat the Jets and Cards early on.  Maybe somehow the return of Trevor Pryce will make a big difference or maybe the Ravens have the Steelers number after last year.

I don’t think so.  Give the 9 points and you’ll be just fine.
