Wrigley Field

I want to describe my incredible experience at Wrigley Field last week.

Simply put, it was one of the greatest things I have ever done. As someone who loves baseball history…  let’s just say history lives inside the friendly confines of that grand old ball park.

It was like going back in time as far as the location, lay out, amenities,  size and shape of the ball park .

But, what I truly loved about it was that the game itself was an event. Every fan was wearing his or her Cubs jersey… It was a party atmosphere, and  the crowd was in on every pitch.

No cell phones. No irritating, disruptive music in between pitches, no instructions telling you when to cheer. No one leaves early.

It truly was baseball at its best…baseball the way it should be….

As an aside, we O’s fans are loyal…I was told by some one who works for the Cubs that the Cubs-O’s series produced the largest number of visiting team fans that the Cubs organization had ever seen. Notably, the Cubs fans treated the visitors with a ton of class… They were very polite and friendly, and understood that we came to cheer for the Birds… True enough…but we also came to see their national treasure of a ball park.
