The University of Maryland Inflammatory Bowel Disease Program, located within the Digestive Health Center, is a regional referral center for the most difficult inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) cases. Although the specialists at the University of Maryland IBD Program treat a wide array of gastrointestinal illnesses, they place heavy emphasis on Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. At the University of Maryland, our IBD team is experts in developing individualized treatment plans taking into consideration risk, benefits, and alternatives to each class of therapy. In addition our team attempts to minimize the use of steroids whenever possible.
