Given the busy sports menu this time of year, there are many stories that sort of slip thru the cracks.

This is one of them.

At Owings Mills High School, football season was not a happy time. The Eagles had not won a football game in five years. Their losing streak had reached 53 games, the longest in Baltimore County history. All that changed last weekend.

The Eagles defeated Loch Raven 12-0 to snap that bothersome streak. That deserves a great big “way to go” to Coach Steve Lurz and every member of his team.

Note-I once played on a high school basketball team that went 0-20..I feel their pain. I also can imagine the joy they must feel.

Well done, Eagles….well done indeed.
