“I’m in town to play the Dolphins, you dumbass!”  Probably the single, best line from the movie, “Something About Mary.”  That all being said … Farve is back again for another season.  After telling the world he couldn’t play after his surgery, he fooled us once again.  Such is life in the NFL.  We’ve almost come to expect this from Farve year-after-year.  And no one should be surprised by today’s signing.

I just wonder how this all plays out and what’s the winning formula.  There is no happy ending in all this.  Someone is a loser here.  If Brett Farve flops and the Vikings fail, he’s the guy who stayed another year too long.  His on-the-field achievements are left with a sour taste of 2 years where he would end up throwing more interceptions than touchdowns.   Not the Farve we know.  If he succeeds, Packer fans everywhere are broken-hearted and left trying to hate a man that gave them so many years of happiness.  Someone will be upset at season’s end …

Well, everyone except the NFL and the television folks who will continue to put every possible Farve game on TV for millions to watch.  Go figure!
