• Plaxico Burress: Ruled out of Week 13 with a hamstring injury, then accidentally shot himself in the leg with a gun last Friday, turned himself into NYC police Monday morning to plead not guilty to charges of criminal possession of a weapon, placed on the non-football injury list and suspended four games by the Giants for conduct detrimental to the team on Tuesday
• Four-game suspensions for: Vikings DTs Kevin and Pat Williams, Saints RB Deuce McAllister, DE Charles Grant and DE Will Smith, and Texans LS Bryan Pittman, for violating the league’s steroid and related substances policy … ESPN’s Chris Mortensen reports that an injunction will be filed in a U.S. District Court Wednesday morning to attempt to keep the suspended players active for the rest of the season … Williamses reportedly granted a temporary restraining order against the NFL on Wednesday that might allow their four-game suspensions to be delayed
• Ken Dorsey takes over for Derek Anderson as the Browns’ starting quarterback … Josh Cribbs might be the backup this week, but it’ll be Bruce Gradkowski in Weeks 15-17
