baltimore-1870-guest-house.jpgThe 1870 Guest House is located in a restored Italianate-style brick row home very close to the INNER HARBOR and Convention Center, offering a distinctive accommodation complete with a fully equipped private kitchen & bath. The unique urban setting offers outstanding Civil War-era architecture located on historic Union Square Park (est. 1847).

Our large guest suite (actually an apartment) offers an eclectic mix of unique fabrics, original art, and furnishings. Features include a queen bed, bath w/tub&shower, AC, TV/VCR, internet hookup, and private phone (free local calls) and desk. The kitchen is stocked with a substantial breakfast. Guests may serve themselves at their leisure. Ideal for extended stays.

This southwest Baltimore neighborhood, known as ‘SoWeBo’, has an unusual mix of artisans whose works are featured in galleries, festivals, and museums. Nearby attractions include the H.L. Mencken House, B&O Railroad Museum (1827), and the Hollins Market (1836), Baltimore’s oldest public market still in use. Enjoy a refreshing neighborhood experience removed from the bustle of the city. Your hosts (in residence) will help guide you to popular and lesser known city attractions- museums/galleries, ethnic and off-beat restaurants, antiques, unusual shops and nightlife.
